Precious Emerald :: Dress jacket & Peekaboo lace
Happy Wednesday everyone!
It’s no mystery that I’m a huge fan of Marissa Webb. I love her boy-meets-girl style. A mix of masculine with a touch of feminine details. And I love the versatility of her designs. This shirt dress can also be worn as a jacket!
Interesting little story… my incredible tailor, Hector, is a miracle worker. He has threaded beads back into my dress after alternation, worked with leather outerwear pieces, fixed highly stylized jacket… and with all of this, he still finds Marissa Webb pieces to be the most complex. He has told me many times that her pieces are extremely thoughtful and that her fabric selections are very deliberate to showcase the design and movement of each piece. Visiting Hector is not only about fitting. We sit together and he shows me seam lines, cuts, the insides of jackets, button details, and so much more. We also talk about the art of tailoring, his family, boys (he always tells me… make sure they don’t make you cry!), work, my little cat, and life in general. Whenever I’m with him, I love hearing his perspective on fashion and design.
I love adding lace bralettes to low-cut tops. It adds the perfect amount of coverage without losing the allure of a plunging neckline.
Thank you so much for reading!
