Happy Monday everyone!

It’s quite an oxymoron… see-through bags (this trend observed here, here, and here).  Isn’t a handbag suppose to carry and conceal our valuables?  The ability for others to see what’s inside might welcome curious eyes and sticky fingers.  This internal debate heightened my interest towards transparent bags.  To thoroughly investigate this concept, I came face to face with this pyramid studs clear cross body bag.  At first glance, I struggled to understand it and immediately put it back in the box for a return.  It was actually Mystery Man who suggested that I should give this little bag a second chance.  I took her out again and started adding my card holder, lip balm, and other accessories inside.  And that’s when a light bulb went off.  A transparent bag gives freedom to be creative from the inside.  I felt like I was decorating a little home for my accessories, and as a result, the dash of colors gave more personality to my see-through bag.  After putting all of the components inside, I happily showed MM.

MM: It’s like a work of art!
Me (grinning from side to side): Really?! 
David: Is that an Easter egg?
Me: It’s a lip balm  -_-

I’m very blessed to be surrounded by incredibly supportive and funny people!  After a round of laughter, I thought about what MM said and gained a deeper appreciation for this type of design.

Hi everyone!  Just a quick hello and I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend so far!

I wore this outfit last night to dinner with Kelly and Annabelle.  A triple date over moroccan food, sweet Riesling, and great conversation.  I actually absentmindedly showed up at the restaurant a day before our dinner reservation.  After a few quick text messages I realized I was a day early.  That just goes to show how excited I was about our dinner date!

Mystery Man, David, and I have been anxiously waiting for part 2 of the Hugo Boss film series.  Watching it gets us more excited about the fashion show!  May 30th is just around the corner and we can’t wait to visit Shanghai and Hugo Boss.  As we left off earlier this month with part 1, here’s a toast to part 2 and a great start to the weekend!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have a secret obsession with anything that resembles travel.  I love looking at the departure schedule boards at airports, and literally squealed from excitement when I saw the Solari boards at the Paris train station.  And I get hypnotized when I see old trunks and packages with stamps all over them (the more the better!).  At home, we actually have a 98 year old Oshkosh Co. trunk (I bought it on Craiglist =) that still has its travel stamp stickers all over it.  It was only natural that when I saw this dress it mesmerized me.  Postage stamp prints?!  Say no more!

Thank you so much for your encouragement and support on my last blog post!  I was just chatting with Mystery Man about this whole experience and tears rolled down my face.  Jokingly, we said… there’s no crying in fashion blogging!  I can always count on him to put a smile on my face.  Thank you so much for sharing your stories and words of wisdom.  We truly appreciate your kindness.  Wishing you a wonderful day and talk to you soon!

Happy Monday everyone!

Round 2: The return of cut outs!  This dress moves like a dream.  And the best part… it has pockets!

It’s a little past 3:30 am right now as I’m writing this blog post.  Lately I can’t sleep.  There’s so much that’s running through my mind, and sometimes… I know that this might sound strange… I’m afraid that if I fall asleep I might wake up and find out that all of this was just a dream.  Some of you, as long time readers of this blog, might know that I have a rather untraditional past.  When I was younger, I observed that all good things somehow have strings attached and inevitability all good things come to an end.  And maybe that’s why at times I’m afraid of sleeping.  I haven’t felt this happy in a very long time.  I love my job, my brother is healthy and happy, my boyfriend is absolutely amazing, my close friends are supportive, and my mentee and I are closer than ever.  And deep down, I’m just afraid that all of this will come to an end.  I truly believe that my past made me the person I am today and would never change any part of it.  I’m still healing from some of the emotional scars, but am grateful to experience the life lessons that came with it.  As an adult, I struggle to find peace with positive defining moments, because the little girl inside me still thinks that these events are fleeting.

Last Friday, WWD made a very special announcement.  I’m so happy to share that Tacori reached out to me to be their brand ambassador.  I read the news on my way to my car after having lunch with a friend.  While on the road, I felt my heart swelling and started crying.  All good things come to an end right?  As I was trying to find peace with those thoughts, I realized that those thoughts stemmed in the first place because I felt as though this was too good to be true.  After a moment of reflection, I was overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude.  I felt so grateful that Tacori asked me to join their family and that they believe in me.

I say this on every blog post and I mean it every time… thank you so much for reading.  Thank you for being on this journey with me.  Thank you for letting me share my love for fashion, my random conversations with Mystery Man, and truly unforgettable memories here on this blog.  From the bottom of my heart, I’m so grateful for your support.
