Happy Friday everyone!  I hope your week is going well and that the weekend will usher in new cheerful moments.   Today is a very special day for me and I can’t wait to share all of the details with you!

I actually have a pretty cool story about these cracked-leather shorts that I will share in a later post =)  As you can see, my leather bottoms collection is growing!

And now… my heart is pounding with excitement as I’m writing this… I had the most amazing time with fellow bloggers and Brad Goreski on a Diane von Furstenberg shoot last week.  I follow these bloggers online, so it was such an honor to meet them in person.  And Brad was incredibly charming!

I was a bundle of nerves that morning!   I was nervous about meeting Brad, the DVF team, and fellow bloggers.  I kept turning to Mystery Man saying “what if I can’t put these outfits together?!”  I’m a perfectionist at heart and don’t like to disappoint others, so as you can imagine, I was pacing back and forth in the showroom trying to figure out what to do with the pairings.  Mystery Man turned to me and said, “You do this all the time, you put pairings together for your YouTube fans every week.  Just treat it like a youtube video.”  We did a little dance to relax me and I started looking at the selection around me.  The goal was to create two looks, one for day and one for night, featuring a pair of DVF shoes.

I was immediately drawn to the gold panel and sculpted heel of these sandals.  It has an understated elegance.  I wanted to create a day look that really highlighted the glamor of the gold, but at the same time, has a casual chic vibe.  To showcase the gold, I paired these sandals with metallic shorts and a silk button-up with beautiful trimmings.  And to give it that casual favor, I added a cashmere gray sweater on top.

For the night look, Brad suggested using the leather fringe jacket.  To compliment the rocker chic vibe of the jacket, I added dark tights underneath the shorts.

Brad and I had such a great time throughout the shoot.  He has an uncanny ability to disarm people.  Just meeting him for the first time, he makes you feel like you’ve known each other for years.  He loves to laugh, and moreover, he wants to make you laugh.

I must have been so focused on Brad that my eyes literally crossed!   Oh boy, what a perfect time to be cross-eyed!

The absolutely beautiful Erin from Cali Vintage, Blair from Atlantic-Pacific, and Liz from Late Afternoon.

Leaving the shoot, I kept on thinking about that gray cashmere sweater and gold shorts.  I was so tempted to come back the next day and get them.  I exercised major self-control and added them to my wishlist instead =)  Whenever I find something cool (a pair of interesting shorts or shoes or anything), or come back from a shoot or event, the first thing I think about is “I can’t wait to share this on the blog!”  I can’t wait to share it with YOU.  I’m so thankful for this online blogging space, for the opportunity to share my experiences with you.  I say this quite often and I mean it every time, THANK YOU so much for being on this journey with me!
