Happy Monday everyone! As you’re reading this, we’re in Toronto! We’re here for a few days to celebrate Toronto Fashion Week with Joe Fresh. They’re hosting an opening night event to kick off Toronto Fashion Week tonight and it’s one of the highlights of Fashion Week here. What I’m looking forward to most is the premiere of the film, “This Is Now”. It documents the history and impact of the entire Canadian fashion industry.
This is our first time in Toronto and we’re beyond excited!
I love experimenting with different silhouettes and wanted to create a menswear-inspired look. This pairing is literally borrowed-from-the-boys. For my brother and I, our love for blazers run deep. I’ve been looking for a gray oversized blazer with raw edges (I can get pretty specific when it comes to wish list items!) for awhile now. After many attempts, I ventured over to the men’s side. Done and done! I saw this one and immediately knew it was going to be a lot of fun. I love how effortless it looks! Since it’s an oversized shape on me, I wanted to balance the look by playing with contrast. I adore the concept of mixing menswear with feminine lines (a men’s blazer with a cinched waistline) and big with small shapes (an oversized blazer with a mini bag). And more importantly, sharing is caring! My brother and I can enjoy the same piece and I’m inspired to pair it next time with olive pants!
If you have a moment, we would greatly appreciate any recommendations that you have, especially in the Toronto downtown area! Your favorite anything – a local hidden gem, a favorite brunch spot, a must-try restuarant, places to explore… We would love to hear your suggestions!
As always, thank you so much for reading!Thank you so much for reading!
