Spring.  Well kind of.  Winpring (winter + spring) in Amsterdam.  The weather still has the crisp bite of winter but the freshness of spring.  My way of compromising, spring inside and winter on the outside.  Spring to me equals lace (latest blog post in Forever 21 lace) and that theme continues today with this lace red dress.

A voluminous skirt combined with a tiered hem design finished with ruffle sleeves, this crimson piece is the perfect vacation day dress and date night look.  And because of the guipure lace fabric, it also works well for cold weather occasions.  The weight of the lace pairs harmoniously with other soft textured fabrics like suede and wool.  For this winspring look, I coupled the dress with suede over-the-knee boots and a military coat for warmth and to add a masculine contrast to the sweet lace.

We were flying from London to Amsterdam and as I was sitting there in my seat, I had a moment where I completely zoned out with a deep sense of gratitude.  I didn’t have much growing up and always looked to the sky to imagine a brighter future.  Every time a plane flew by, I always thought what it would be like to be in one of those.  Now every time I fly, I count my blessings.  I was almost homeless at 18 and now I get the privilege of sitting there admiring the clouds.  The universe works in strange ways.  And I count my blessings everyday.  For the cats in my life and for the humans in my life.

Thank you for being on this journey with me, and as always, thank you so much for reading!  Hope you had a great weekend!
