Happy Monday everyone! I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s spotlight post, NYC Best Instagrammable Spots. We can add this location to the list as well. It’s the New York Public Library. We’ve visited and shot here on off-days, early mornings, busy crowded days, basically most situations and every time this little corner is available. In my humble opinion, it’s the best corner =) It feels like a little Rome in NYC!
I love love love a great flowy maxi dress! As seen here – yellow floral maxi dress, white layered maxi dress, off-the-shoulder vintage-inspired lace maxi dress, emerald silk maxi dress, orange pleated maxi dress, and so much more! One, they’re food-friendly (hooray, no need to suck in that gut). Two, they’re super easy to wear and style. And three, they’re great for vacation wear, date night, wedding guest dressing, special occasion dressing, and more. This Kalita maxi dress is truly special. The emerald color, the cape-like back panel, the Grecian style draping, the waterfall effect gathered front… it floats beautifully away from the body and dances with each step.
Pairing this dress with some of my favorite accessories, I added floral sequin earrings, layered delicate rings, and coupled a mini woven raffia bag to complete the look. When it comes to straw bags, I’m very picky. I love the idea of it, but still need it to have city elements in it. That’s why I like boxy silhouettes (maybe because it reminds me of buildings) more than round shapes and dainty top handle small bags (with a shoulder strap option) more than tote styles. This mini straw bag is perfect! The plush pompoms accents are fun and the box shape is sharp and chic. It’s great for a city girl who dreams of going to warm weather destinations!
