Last weekend, I was in Los Angeles visiting my brother. I was on the phone with him the other day and he said, “You know… I’m almost done with college.” I couldn’t believe it! Time goes by so fast. Every time I write an entry involving my brother, I get so emotional. My eyes swell up and I’m just one second from breaking into tears. We have a very strong connection and he’s my little hero.
We had lunch at one of our favorite places – The Lab. They have a great outdoor area and the food is very tasty.
I brought my trusty Marco Tagliaferri bag with me to LA =)
My brother has an amazing sense of fashion. I learned how to pair hooded sweatshirts and leather jackets from him =P
When we first came to America, my brother was 2 and I was 8, and we learned English by watching movies. At that time, the only movie that was available to us was Romeo & Juliet. The theme song was “A Time For Us,” and we kept on singing it together. It was our way of learning English. I was taken to foster care at 15, and my brother was 9 at the time. After we reunited, he told me… one day, in his high school reading class, his teacher randomly put on some background music, and the song “A Time For Us” played. After that day, he decided to search for me. And I’m forever thankful that he did.
I love you Khoa… I just don’t know where I would be without you.
Thank you so much for reading =)Thank you so much for reading!
