Being a part of the my-wardrobe campaign and shoot was incredible.  The minute we arrived in London, a my-wardrobe team member greeted us at the airport and ushered us to the hotel, where we were welcomed by the rest of the team members.  We felt so safe and in good hands.  The next day, we arrived at the showroom and I feast on showrooms!  I love being in it!  It’s an orchestrated playground full of beautiful clothes and accessories sitting gracefully yearning to be touched.  I’ve shopped online with my-wardrobe before, and it was great to see some of these pieces on their website in real life.  From caressing their wool sweaters to hugging their bags, I did a lot of touching that day!

After the studio shoot, we had extra time so I wanted to style another look and use the streets of London as the backdrop.  Like a kid in a candy store, I walked around the showroom and was instantly attracted to this top.  Using gold and red as the color palette, I paired the shirt with a fire engine red envelop clutch.  For this look, I’m wearing my own shorts and shoes but the rest of the pieces are from the my-wardrobe showroom.

The morning of the shoot, I sat with the hair and make-up team.  When someone else is styling my head, I’m usually much more adventurous with hair than I am with make-up.  I’m just not comfortable wearing too much make-up mainly because I have a fear of breaking out.   The Bobbie Brown make-up artist was attentive and listened to my preferences and concerns.  She gave me a light natural look which I appreciated very much.  But when it came to hair, I wanted something dramatic with loads of volume and hair flying everywhere!  The Aveda hair sculptor created strong side waves with huge volume on top.  He curled large sections and pinned them in place for about 30 minutes.  After letting them out, he brushed it with a large brush to give it shape and swept the whole thing to one side.  I’m definitely going to try my best to recreate this look at home one day.

The final look and feature on the my-wardrobe site =)
