Hi everyone!  I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend so far!

We arrived at the show and before I knew it, I was ushered onto the red (actually black =) carpet.  A young woman greeted me at the beginning of the carpet and warmly said, “it’s your turn.”  I smiled, nodded, and struggled for a few seconds as my legs were delayed.  It was as though my mind was ready, but my legs did not want to move.  Luckily, my bottom half caught up in time and I made it across without fumbling or saying hi to the floor.

:: BOSS Hugo Boss fashion show ::

Shanghai was the perfect setting to debut BOSS’ fall/winter 2013 fashion show.  Striking a harmonious yin and yang, the collection featured a balance of masculinity and femininity, displaying a range of structured suits and embellished dresses.  All of the pieces exude a common theme of strength and grace.

In the collection, power suits continue to reign supreme.  Rich burgundy leather and bold structured blazers styled over delicate sheer blouses swept down the runway.  The details on the collar, the exaggerated front panels, and the tailored fit added hints of modern elements to the classic suit design.

To balance the play on power of the structured suit shapes, beautiful intricate dresses danced down the runway.  It was the perfect marriage of robust hardwares and elegant drapes.

I squealed and was so happy to see the dress that I was wearing in the show!  This one is midnight blue and it glistened beautifully as it moved.

This was the dress that Chi-Ling Lin wore in the Shanghai Affairs mini movies.  I gained a deeper appreciation after seeing it in real life. The front has the shape of a shift dress but the back is truly a work of art.  The front shows so much restraint and as it turns to unveil the back, I saw it as a clean canvas to showcase the artwork on the back.

With lighting flashing on the runway, the show was indeed electrifying.  Full of lush autumn colors (burgundies, teals, cobalts, and grays), each piece painted a story of a confident and modern woman and man as she and he embraces life’s journey.  The dresses and suits sung perfect complementary melodies as it displayed the collection’s aura of strength and grace.

It was such an honor to be at the show.  MM, David, and I had so much fun!  Thank you so much for joining us on this journey.  We can’t get enough of Shanghai and plan to return soon!
