:: Share Happy ::
A few days ago, I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Banana Republic at their Share Happy event. A Marimekko decorated booth rotated throughout Manhattan where people could send happy-grams (mini care packages) to friends and loved ones. The Banana Republic team delivered hundreds of gifts throughout the city that day. I met parents who wanted their children to receive happy-grams to brighten their day, friends sending care packages to friends as a midday pick-me-upper, and a very thoughtful husband who sent a wonderful gift to his wife. His wife was having a bad day and he kindly requested for an Ippudo lunch (her favorite) to be delivered to her. Instead of lunch, the BR team organized for the Ippudo chef to appear at their home and cook them a full meal! So incredibly sweet (and delicious)!
In addition to meeting so many wonderful people, I had the honor of surprising a reader by delivering a happy-gram to her in person. Balloon and flowers in hand, I knocked on her door. When I heard footsteps, I got excited and hid to one side. After the door opened, I hopped out blurting ‘hi hi!’ in a rather high pitched voice (as you can see I was really excited!). Lots of hugs and laughter as we shared a moment at the door! She welcomed the BR team and I into her home (Hi Alyssa!), and we chatted about career paths and our love for NYC. I honestly haven’t had that much fun in a long time! Listening to people’s stories, seeing bright smiles, meeting a reader in person, and riding on a colorful moped definitely qualifies as a best-day-ever!
Hope you’re having a wonderful day and thank you so much for reading!
