Hi everyone!  Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend so far!  We’re back home now, but this photo story was from our trip in Cabo.  My favorite part was when we went into town and admired the colorful architecture.  I knew we were going to do a lot of walking, so I wore my flats and paired it with sorbet colors to match the cheerful mood of Cabo.

:: Packing Tips ::

May I confess?  When it comes to the idea of taking a relaxing trip, I prefer city destinations… London, Paris, Hong Kong, San Francisco (that’s why I love my hometown!), New York City (can’t get enough!).  Street noise strangely relaxes and inspires me.  However, destinations with beaches and water give me anxiety.  I think it stems from my fear of water.  On the other hand, MM loves beaches and pools so going to Cabo was an idea that excited him.  To feel more comfortable heading into Cabo, I realized that packing a few of my favorite things gave me a much needed confidence boost.  In this packing post, I would like to share three packing tips that helped me feel more energized for resort/beach trips:
1. Statement sandals, 2. Ethereal dresses, and 3. Power swimwear.

Colorful bags and layered necklaces to add pops of color and texture to casual and night outfits.

Proenza Schouler strap flats, Stuart Weitzman gladiator sandals (also adore these short gladiator versions here & here)

1. Statement sandals – sometimes I truly feel that confidence works itself from the bottom up, so a great starting point is at our feet.  I love these multi-strap flats and gladiator sandals.  They add a unique detail when paired with casual outfits and give a casual tough vibe when coupled with dresses.  Every time I wear them, I feel like a champion.  Maybe it’s just embracing the aura of a warrior, or maybe it’s the fact that when I buckle and zip them up I feel ready to take on the world.  Whatever the positive feelings might be, I suggest investing in a pair of statement sandals that makes you feel bold every time you wear them!

H&M lace dress (outfit post featuring it here), Cameo dress (old) (more ethereal designs here & here)

2. Ethereal dresses – in my humble opinion, light flowy dresses are perfect for beach destinations.  As the cool breeze brushes over them, they dance and flutter.  Paired with a statement necklace (or layered necklaces), these dresses are great companions for dinners and dinner parties.

Zimmermann mix print bikini, Zimmermann ruffled bikini (also adore this one piece swimsuit)

3. Power swimwear – personally, I find that swimsuit shopping is one of the most personal and daunting experiences.  A beautiful swimsuit has the power of making one feel like the queen of the sea (if you don’t believe me, take a look at this one!), and on the other hand, one that we’re uncomfortable in can make us feel more self-conscious.  For a very long time, I struggled to find one that fit my frame and helped me feel protected yet chic.  Until I saw this black ruffled one.  I love that the halterneck covers well with a scuba-inspired meets feminine ruffles theme.  It’s my go-to swim piece and I only wear the mix print one when the black one needs drying.  To feel more comfortable at the beach or pool, I highly recommend taking time and finding a swim piece that makes you feel powerful and beautiful.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope that the packing tips are helpful!  Please feel free and share your beach resort packing/styling tips!  I, and I’m sure many readers, would love to read them =)
