Happy Wednesday everyone! Pinks and burgundies in Reykjavik, Iceland. Three layers on top and two on the bottom (thick wool high socks are a must!), I wore this outfit on the warmest day when we were there and it was enough to keep me warm and comfortable.
Traveling to Iceland, I knew I had to pack essential winter pieces to help me combat the cold. I’ll go in-depth on how to stay comfortably warm in the next blog post, but for now… sharing a few of my go-to favorite travel essentials.
For cozy pieces, I packed a few sweaters – Joseph high neck sweater, ASOS cable sweater, and J.O.A. cold shoulder sweater. And whatever outfit it was, I always wore my Splendid top underneath for extra warmth. I also knew all-weather/snow boots were essential on this trip, not to mention in NYC as well. To be honest with you, stylish all-weather boots were hard to come by, but I found a few that were chic and lined – Sorel waterproof boots, Rag & Bone shearling-lined boots, and Christian Louboutin studded boots.
Onto skincare… I forgot to pack my moisturizer and foundation, and panicked when I realize I left those two behind. Throughout the trip, I doubled up on my Biossance rose oil and used my Chanel concealer as foundation. We also went to the Blue Lagoon and the salt water completely destroyed my hair. I ended up soaking my hair with my Biossance body oil and laying off on any heat tools for a few days.
