I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
I bought this parka over a month ago in preparation for winter. Mystery Man and I are heading to Chicago in late December to visit his family, so I thought this parka would be a great piece to combat the cold. When I showed him this jacket, he literally laughed out loud.
MM: Honey, this parka is made for LA ‘winter’, Chicago winter is different.
Me: What do you mean?
MM: You’ll see (with a smirk). I bet you won’t last more than 5 minutes outside with that thing on.
Me: Game on buddy… game on!
As you can see, I have a very hard time passing up wagers. I have a strong feeling I’m going to lose this one. Evidently, Chicago winters are incredibly cold and an average person can not last more than a few minutes outside before the biting cold makes it unbearable. Being spoiled by the weather in California, I have never encountered this type of winter. I don’t want to lose this bet, so I’m going to stuff myself with as many layers as possible underneath this parka and think of warm thoughts as I stand outside for 5.1 minutes in Chicago later this month.
I’ll make sure to update you on the status of this bet =) But for now, I think this uniquely designed parka is great for LA. I love the split-tail, the balloon knitted sleeves, and the faux fur hood.
