I hope you had a wonderful Christmas filled with delicious food and great company!
I saw this ASOS blazer online a few weeks ago and immediately fell in love with the cut. Reminiscent of Balmain, I simply adore the structured shoulder design. It went on sale a few days later and I bought it right away. Upon receiving the blazer, I instantly knew it needed minor surgery. Armed with a leather panel on hand, I marched over to my tailor.
Hector: [looking at my leather sheet] You want me to make you a skirt?
Me: Oh no! Not a skirt but something else… Can you replace the collar and lapel with this leather piece?
I’ve been working on a new clutch design, but unfortunately, my little consumer sewing machine can not handle leather. No matter how hard I tried, the sewing machine can’t grip the material, thus making it almost impossible for the needle to complete one stitch. I’ve had the leftover leather sheet on my work station for awhile now and knew the minute I saw this blazer that I wanted to incorporate it in somehow. Hector did an amazing job with the alternations and since he planted the skirt idea, I might come back with a jacquard fabric panel next time =)
