Happy Friday everyone! I couldn’t ask for a better way to kick off Fashion Week. In collaboration with Banana Republic, I took over their Instagram page and shared a photo story of my NYFW experience throughout the day. The takeover ended at Marissa Webb’s runway show. I hope that these pictures capture the excitement and deep gratitude of my first day in NYC.

I first met Marissa on Instagram. I know. Of all places right?! My dear friend Kelly introduced me to her line and I was quite obsessed. I fell in love with her white blazer (worn in the first outfit of this entry) and styled it on my Instagram page. A few days later, I got an email from her with a note of thanks. Whenever I receive emails that I think are too good to be true, I always think it’s spam. I re-read the email a few times, realized it was real, and finally worked up the courage to email her back. I simply said thank you and please continue to share your designs with the world. The two emails turned into a thread and she invited me to her show that year. Fast forward three seasons later, I feel so incredibly blessed to sit at her show again. When you meet Marissa, it’s really hard not to fall in love with her. She’s goofy and silly, extremely talented, has an amazing memory, and above all, is incredibly kind. Talented, strong women inspire me so much and I’m forever grateful that the blogging world gave me the opportunity to cross paths with Marissa. Being Banana Republic’s new Creative Director, I respect and appreciate her vision for BR and can’t wait for her designs to hit the stores!
