Happy Friday everyone! Today marks an almost two weeks in New York. Not visiting, but living this time. Moving to New York City was probably one of the hardest things I’ve done as an adult. The last three days in LA when my apartment was almost empty, I remembered looking around and feeling a sense of joy, excitement, anxiety, and fear. Am I cut out for New York? But most of my close friends and social circles are in LA? I think it was the fear of the unknown and the anxiety of starting over that kept me up at night before the move. For many years I dreamt of living in NYC (probably a year after I started blogging) and I figured if I don’t do it now, when? I had to reframe the thought of ‘starting over’ to ‘pushing reboot’. Slowly the fear and anxiety turned into feelings of strength and courage. Experiencing the joy of living in a new city and freedom to rebuild again, I felt empowered as though I was the star of my own little Broadway show. The freedom to continue another chapter in my story, but this time, the setting is New York City…. feels incredibly liberating.
Embracing every honking yellow cab, cobbler stone street, and industrial stairwell that this city has to offer =)
With the theme of embracing something new, this is my first time wearing cropped flare pants. Cropped, yes. Flare, yes. But not together till now. And I love this silhouette! A key shape for this autumn season, I love pairing it with cropped jackets and high heels to create a streamlined look. With a classic black and white palette, I added a hint of color with a lilac bag.
Thank you so much for reading! And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being on this journey with me. From San Francisco to LA and now to NYC. Thank you! And special thanks to kate spade new york for partnering on this post.
