Hello winter! Winter in NYC is no joke. Every time I’m back in LA, my friends always ask… do you just get used to the cold? The answer always is no, you just get used to not feeling your face.
And that’s why I wear sunglasses. My eyes and nose get so watery and red from the cold that it’s safer to wear sunglasses, so that I can protect your eyes from the disaster happening above my shoulders. But the cold taught me a few things: 1. Layers can be done without looking bulky, 2. Playing with textures is always a good idea, and 3. A teddy coat is a must!
A great piece to layer a lot under, the ultimate cuddly companion, the ever so chic piece… a teddy coat has it all. I’ve never owned a teddy coat before moving to NYC, but after living here, I understand why it’s such a great winter piece. Especially long teddy coats. It’s basically a wearable thick blanket. In the wintertime, I wear my teddy coats nonstop.
Keeping warm and comfy with a sweater + boucle jacket + teddy coat. I walked around the city all day and this outfit kept me super warm. And I love mixing textures. It adds more personality and depth to the look. Faux fur, tweed, suede, and glazed fabric all together anchored by browns and grays. This color palette is one of my favorites for winter!
I hope you enjoy the styling and location. Have a great weekend and thank you so much for reading!
