I love riding boots.  They’re timeless and versatile.  Mystery Man was with me when I tried these on…
MM: Are they comfortable honey?
Me: I love the tabs!
MM: Tabs?
Me: The little tabs on the side.  All I need is a horse now!

Me: Oh yes!  And I really like these tabs.
While MM was curious about the comfort, I was enamored by the design.

For some reason today, I feel like bundling up with something warm and cozy.  Sometimes, life moves so fast that we need to find a moment to catch our breath.  Today is that moment for me.  I feel like my heart is swelling with happiness.  This weekend is my training!  I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.  Do you remember the non-profit organization I mentioned back in July?  After the interview, I was accepted into the program.  Volunteering with any non-profit organization that works directly with incarcerated and/or foster care youths require an intensive amount of screening, mainly because, these youths are wards of the court, thus extra measures are taken to ensure that they are safe around adults.  I have a lot to say about the foster care system, but I’ll leave that for another blog post.  In short, I believe that the system is broken and I’m forever thankful to non-profit organizations that provide meaningful services to foster care youths.  Not all non-profit organizations are good (believe me, I experienced this first hand), but when there is a NPO that is amazing, it’s truly a gem in the community.  I can’t wait to start!
