O

On our last night in Morocco, we both looked at each other and said, we should have stayed longer.

We did 3 nights in Marrakech, 2 nights in Oualidia (about 3 hours from Marrakech), and 1 night in the desert (about 1 hour from Marrakech).  And it wasn’t enough.  I think we could have stayed 1 or 2 more nights in Marrakech.  Also, I usually don’t buy souvenirs when we travel and Marrakech was the only place I regret not packing a bigger luggage.  After we left, I wish we spent more time admiring and looking at more rugs, tea sets, kaftans, ceramics, and silk scarves.  I also wish we visited Fes and Casablanca.  Next time, Morocco.  We hope to see you again soon!

We spent one night in the desert.  It was more glamping than camping =)  Honestly, it was the most beautiful sunrise and sunset we’ve ever seen.  And it was so quiet.  Which was a welcomed change from the busy city streets of Marrakech.

There were so many delightful pockets and corners in Marrakech!  Everywhere we went, it felt like a perfect movie set.  In the middle of a beautiful garden, there were rooms tucked away for moments of calmness.  An architectural delight coupled up with a charming library and reading area.

The sounds, the colors, the scents… A sensory overload, the souks in Marrakech is a place like no other.  From metal lanterns to ceramics to rugs, I wish we had more time.  Coming into it next time, I think we need 1. a bigger luggage, 2. a workable color palette (like dishes in rose or blue colors only or rugs in black, white, and a red accent color) so that we don’t get overwhelmed or lost, and 3. more time to see more shops and come back to favorite ones.
